A brief chapter inside a Hong Kong-listed company.
Global Token Limited · Executive Director
2018–2019
I served as an executive director of the Hong Kong-listed company then known as Global Token Limited, stock code 8192.
During that period, the company moved from the name Global Energy Resources International Group Limited toward Global Token Limited, reflecting its expansion into blockchain and digital-asset related activities. I proposed this name change, and it was approved by the board. As early as 2018, I foresaw that tokens would become the smallest unit of measurement in both language and finance, an unstoppable trend.
The formal HKEX record lists Ms. Xie Bin / 谢玢 among the company’s executive directors.

During a U.S. roadshow, TideiSun chairman Chen Ping and I were interviewed in connection with iSunOne, a digital-finance platform combining messaging, payments, digital assets, and banking functions.
At the time, I was publicly describing privacy, user-owned data, cryptocurrency payments, and digital banking as parts of the same financial architecture. Financial IT identified Robin Xie as CEO in its coverage.

In retrospect, some assumptions belonged very much to the crypto cycle of the time. The underlying question survived:

As Hong Kong introduced its new virtual-asset service-provider licensing regime, TideBit publicly discussed applying for a licence and operating under the new regulatory framework.
In coverage by the Hong Kong Economic Journal, Robin Xie was quoted as a TideiSun managing partner commenting on the structure and direction of Hong Kong’s virtual-asset regulation.
