The best news for a new financial business could make its sales pitch less special. Suppose more firms can obtain permission to offer the same service. Each gains entry; customers gain alternatives, if switching is practical. What remains worth paying for when the badge becomes common? Imagine two custodians with equivalent permission. One shows the charter. The other demonstrates reconciliation and a complete exit file. The second has offered something testable, but has not yet proved a premium or a profitable business. A proposed comparison would use identical invented records, deadlines and exit requests. Then ask about repeatability, full costs and renewals. The test has not been run. Scarce eligibility or impractical switching could weaken the hypothesis. Retention alone does not prove satisfaction. This is a thought experiment, not a consequence established by the ICBA/OCC dispute. The complaint requests relief; no court outcome or named firm's current authority is certified. A bounded October 5 review did not verify an order resolving the challenge, which does not prove none exists.
