Paying $15 to save 55 cents sounds like a mistake. A deadline can change that calculation. For a fictional $1,000 US payout, a 1.5% fee is $15. Assume two days earlier access and a 10% annual funding cost: the simple financing value is about $0.55. If earlier cash certainly avoids an invented $40 late charge, the advantage becomes $25.55 before other incremental costs. If that charge has only a 20% chance of occurring, speed loses $6.45 instead. Under these assumptions the break-even probability is about 36.1%. The shop, timing gain, rate and charge are hypothetical. Stripe's published US Dashboard fee and reconciliation responsibilities are documented; no customer experiment was run.
